Booking - rental conditions
West Jutland Tourist Group arranges booking of holiday cottages for rental bureaus in West Jutland. The individual rental bureau is responsible for information on the rental and for the stay. All renters of holiday cottages for which West Jutland Tourist Group arranges bookings are members of the Association of Danish Holiday House Letters and are thus subject to the following ethical rules with respect to the renter.

1. Rental certificate/Number of persons
The rental certificate confirms the rental agreement made between tenant and rental agency.
The agreement made is legally binding.The rental agreement covers the holiday home and attached specifications described in the rental certificate. No persons (of more than 2 years of age) other than the number stated in the rental certificate must be accommodated in the property.

2. Pets/insects
Pets are only allowed if clearly stated in the rental certificate and provided that the owner accepts pets in the holiday home. It is not allowed to bring more pets than the number stated in the rental certificate.
Neither the rental agency nor the owner can be held responsible for insects in or around the holiday home.

3. Cleaning
The rented holiday home must be cleaned by tenant during the stay and must be returned in the condition in which it was received.In case of insufficient cleaning standard on departure (as determined by the agency) extra cleaning will be at tenant's expense. Final cleaning can be ordered at the rental agency against payment settled not later than 3 days before departure. Please note that in some holiday homes final cleaning is mandatory, this will be stated in the catalogue information for the house in question.
Tenant is responsible for all items and equipment present in the holiday home during the rental period and is liable to pay compensation for any damage caused.If damage occurs, tenant is obliged to inform the rental agency about it immediately. Damage occurred but not reported prior to departure from the holiday home will be repaired at tenant's expense. A damage occurred during the rental period will be repaired at once, however, subject to ordinary delivery times. No insurance has been taken out by the rental agency covering the tenant's person or property during the rental period.

4. Terms of payment
25 % of the rent is payable not later than 10 days after receipt of the rental certificate. The balance is payable not later than 60 days prior to the beginning of the rental period. Rental agreements made later than 60 days prior to the beginning of the rental period are due to complete and immediate settlement on receipt of the rental certificate. All prices are excluding electricity, heating, telephone, water, extra equipment etc. These services will be charged separately.

5. Deposit
The rental agency is at any time entitled to charge a deposit where this is deemed necessary.The deposit will be charged with the second installment and will be returned not later than three weeks after departure when the holiday home has been checked with a satisfactory result. Consumption of electricity, fuel oil etc. cannot be set off against the deposit but must be settled on departure. See catalogue information for the individual holiday homes.

6. Complaints
If, against expectations, tenant wants to make a complaint in relation to the rented holiday home, this must be reported in writing to the rental agency not later than 48 hours after moving in. Complaints related to the cleaning standard must be reported to the rental agency immediately after tenant has moved in.
If not, tenant will be held liable for any defects, see clause 3.

7. Cancellation
If the rental agreement is cancelled before 60 days prior to the beginning of the rental period, an amount of 15% of the gross rent is payable, however, no less than DKK 500. In case of termination later than that the full rent is payable 100%.If a holiday home for which the reservation has been cancelled is re-let within 1-59 days before planned arrival, the gross rent for the re-let period less 15% will be repaid. If the property is not re-let, the rent will not be repaid. For cancellation due to illness - see clause 9.
If the rental agreement is changed up to 60 days prior to the beginning of the rental period, a fee of DKK 300 will be charged.After that point of time a change of the rental certificate is no longer possible. In case of cancellation, any service charge paid as well as insurance premium of 3% will not be repaid.

8. Force majeure
In case of general force majeure, strikes etc. or other conditions beyond the control of the rental agency, the rental agreement may be terminated without prior notice by the rental agency.

9. Insurance/Cancellation due to illness
The rental agency has taken out a cancellation and contents liability insurance from Europæiske Rejseforsikring A/S, Frederiksberg Alle 3, 1790 Copenhagen V. Insurance conditions no.391F- in accordance with the Danish Insurance Contracts Act. The insurance conditions will be forwarded on request. The premium is included in the rental amount. In case of cancellation, any service charge paid as well as insurance premium of 3% will not be repaid.

10. Code of Ethics
The rental agency adheres to the code of ethics applicable to members of the Association of Danish Holiday Home Agencies.

11. Misprints
The rental agency makes reservations for any keying errors.

12. Disputes
Any interpretation of this rental agreement shall be settled by the local court of the location where the rented holiday home is situated, according to the Lugano Convention.Disputes are subject to the rules of Danish law.

BOARD OF APPEAL FOR HOLIDAY HOME RENTAL
If some problems should arise during the rental period which are not solved to the tenant's satisfaction and the parties cannot agree on a possible compensation, tenants are entitled to bring the case before the Board of Appeal for Holiday Home Rental.Only tenants who entered a rental agreement with a member of the Association of Danish Holiday Home Agencies are entitled to take such a step.
