Jyllands Park Zoo
Jutland Park Zoo – the largest of its kind in Denmark – is near Haunstrup, 10 km west of Herning on the A15. The park was originally established as a smallholding in 1969. The idea behind the creation of a small zoo was to give children in particular the opportunity to meet the animals at first hand, to play with the animals’ young, and to feed them. The zoo is now home to more than 700 birds and animals from all parts of the world. There are also special playgrounds – with young animals – for children.
SHOW!
Daily (except Fridays) at 11.30 and 15.30. On Fridays, when the water in the pool is
changed, we feed the playful sea-lions, who entertain our guests in return. Besides the animals, there is a range of other attractions for children. These include a small fairground with merry-go-rounds, mini-cars, stalls and the like, a little train that carries visitors around the grounds, boats to sail on the zoo lake, pony rides and more. The charming park welcomes around 250,000 visitors a year. There is excellent access to all areas for disabled people.
